Kat's trip # 7 Bundeena Beach

Bundeena Beach

Bundeena takes its name from an Aboriginal word meaning "noise like thunder" and has an interesting history to tell. You will find traces of the original inhabitants, the Dharawal people in rock carvings that can be found in areas around the beaches and national walks.

This is one of the most peaceful and family friends beaches. The waters are calm which are suitable for canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking, and boating. This is a convenience as the location also offers equipment hire for paddle boarding and canoeing, and its only $20 a head. The waters are clear and filled with life; with the sands rubbing against you toes and feet it feels refreshing. This is a great beach even to set back and relax taking in the nature and the beauty of this hidden secret.

There are also parks and seats that are suitable for picnics for the family/friends day out. With plenty of trees that offer shade and a refreshing touch to the atmosphere. We would recommend this as a family beach as the waters are not too deep and are at a walkable pace.

This location is also great to enjoy the drive into the national park, driving through the trees and curves of the roads with the windows down brings a surreal and exciting buildup to reach bundeena beach.
